Albion Adds Another Library to Resume
In addition to the construction of the new Clayton County NW Branch Library and the Fulton County Hapeville Library, Albion is adding another library project to their work experience and docket for 2019. Cobb County awarded Albion, in partnership with design firm Clark Patterson Lee and library design specialist 720 Design, the renovation of Switzer Library located at 266 Roswell Street NE in Marietta, Georgia.
Members of the community have been attending Switzer Library for nearly thirty years. While the library is currently closed, it will reopen for limited services on September 3.
The renovation of Switzer Library includes new features such as two makerspaces for adults and teens; a dedicated teen space; a family computer lab in the Children’s Room; a new children’s programming room; outdoor plaza next to Children’s Room with seating and a garden area; relocation of Windy Hill Library’s special needs collection and services; and an enlarged ‘Georgia Room.’ The Georgia Room contains 15,000 items containing information about local history and genealogy.
This is the first major renovation since the library opening in 1989. It will especially benefit the children and families of Cobb County.
