4 Organizations You Should Consider Joining Albion in Supporting

Several years ago, Albion adopted the Make-A-Wish Foundation as our charitable donation recipient. A donation is made each year on behalf of the employees. We were fortunate to have presented our donation to Make-A-Wish Georgia last week.

In addition to Make-A-Wish Georgia, we also support a variety of other organizations including the Atlanta Humane Society, the Kennesaw State University Construction Management program, and Canstruction 2019 (via Praxis3).

Make-A-Wish® Georgia has granted over 6,000 wishes in the Atlanta area. They strive to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses across the state.

The Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is one of the oldest private charitable organizations in Atlanta. Interestingly enough, the animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. Currently, AHS is a widely recognized pet adoption center, vet center, and educational program provider. Atlanta Humane Society serves about 30,000 animals each year, and places approximately 9,000 dogs and cats into forever homes.

The mission of the Department of Construction Management at Kennesaw State University is to “develop students for professional construction leadership positions, with a sense of ethical and environmental responsibility, as well as prepare them for advanced degree programs. ” (From their website.) We are proud supporters of this incredible program.

Lastly, we supported Praxis3 in Canstruction Atlanta. Per their website, “Canstruction® is a unique charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the creations go on display to the public as a giant art exhibition. At the end of the event, all food is donated to local hunger relief organizations.”

Please consider joining us in supporting these incredible organizations!
