Georgia World Congress Center Re-Roof

Albion, along with the design firm, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., was selected to provide design-build construction services to The Georgia World Congress Center Authority and Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission for the Roof Replacement at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. The goal is to ensure these facilities function and perform as intended and remain in good operating condition. The area that is to be replaced is approximately 514,000 total square feet of combined surface area. This project consists of the removal/ demo of the existing roof and insulation down to the metal decking, Installation of R-20 polyisocyanates insulation and fully adhered polyester reinforced 80-mil thick KEE modified PVC membrane with low VOC adhesive system, Installation of new 24-gauge Kynar finished steel copings, Walkways and protection pads to all roof top equipment, Disconnect and reconnect MEP as required to perform work and meet code and roof manufacture requirements. Albion will remove and replace expansion joint covers, expansion joints, flashing, pitch pans, and strainers. We will replace damaged/rotten nailers and blocking and modify to meet requirement for the new system. We will also be modifying curbs and penthouse curbs to meet required height due to increase in insulation height. We will be Installing sumps around drains all while retaining existing drain levels. We’ll provide temporary water diversion or drainage during roof replacement and we will Inspect and confirm existing roof drains are clean and clear.
