Georgia World Congress Center Re-Roof

Location: Atlanta, GA

Project Timeline: As of May 2025, this project is still underway

Albion, in partnership with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., was selected to deliver design-build services for a large-scale roof replacement at the Georgia World Congress Center—one of the largest convention centers in the country. Working closely with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority and the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission, Albion was entrusted with updating more than 1.5 million square feet of roofing across the facility.

The scope of work included removing the existing roof system and installing new, energy-efficient materials designed to improve durability, weather resistance, and long-term performance. Upgrades included new insulation, protective roofing membrane, and updated metal components around rooftop equipment and walkways. Albion also managed necessary mechanical and electrical adjustments to ensure all work met code and manufacturer requirements.

This project is being completed while maintaining operations at one of Atlanta’s most high-traffic public venues, requiring thoughtful coordination, safety planning, and attention to detail. Albion is proud to support the long-term functionality of this iconic Georgia facility and help ensure it remains in excellent condition for years to come.
