Albion partnered with the Atlanta Humane Society to lead the development of its new headquarters, the Arthur M. Blank Family Animal Center—a transformative 44,000 SF facility located in the heart of Atlanta. The project was delivered through a Design-Build approach, following Albion’s earlier role as Program Manager for site remediation and early planning.

The new campus replaces the organization’s former Howell Mill location, which served the community for over 110 years. Built on a remediated brownfield site, the facility includes advanced medical treatment areas, indoor and outdoor enrichment zones, adoption and behavioral care spaces, and dedicated rooms for foster parents. Key design features include walking trails, cooling splash pads for dogs, and outdoor “catios” for feline residents. The second floor of the building includes modern office space for AHS administrative staff.

This award-winning project reflects Atlanta Humane Society’s continued commitment to animal welfare and community connection—and represents Albion’s ability to bring visionary spaces to life with purpose, care, and collaboration.
