Project Progress: Forsyth County Denmark Library

On July 18th, Albion marketing intern, Tim Olukanni had the opportunity to visit his second job site with our Albion team. This time, he visited the Forsyth County Denmark Library, a venture Albion has been diligently working on with design partner, McMillan, Pazdan, Smith Architecture.

Albion and McMillan, Pazdan, Smith Architecture began work on the Forsyth County Denmark Library in Alpharetta, Georgia, in late July 2023. By welcoming this new library, the Forsyth County Public Library System is anxiously awaiting their fifth library in their portfolio. The Denmark Library project involves constructing a 22,509 square-foot, one-story Type IIB building, featuring conventionally framed steel with long-span roof decking and a height of approximately 16’6”. The library sits on a 9.5-acre site. Beyond the building, the project includes significant site work such as parking modifications, stormwater management, and outdoor activity areas. One of the standout features of the new library will be its panoramic scenic outdoor view, enhanced by floor-to-ceiling glass walls! This new addition aims to enrich the community, providing a modern and welcoming space for all who visit. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024. The Albion project team includes Senior Project Manager Dan Donatelli, Superintendent John Sherman, and Assistant Superintendent Alex Franciosi.

“During my visit, I had the pleasure of touring the project with Alex Franciosi, a seasoned professional in the field,” said Olukanni. “Alex provided a detailed breakdown of the project’s progress and the unique challenges they were facing. One aspect that stood out to me while speaking with Alex was the complexity introduced by the curved walls, which required precise adjustments and careful planning.”

“The radius of everything is the most intricate part of the project because every wall is curved,” Alex explained, shedding light on the complex nature of the construction.

Olukanni discovered that despite the ongoing work, dedication to quality, and attention to detail, Albion is committed to ensuring that the Denmark Library will be a state-of-the-art facility for Forsyth County and surrounding communities. My visit to the Forsyth County Denmark Library project deepened my appreciation for the hard work and expertise that goes into such significant projects. It’s a testament to Albion’s commitment to excellence and the positive impact they aim to bring to local communities.”
