Albion Breaks Ground on Two Exciting Projects
Albion is elated to announce the kick-off of two projects: the Atlanta Motorsports Park Kart Racing Centre and the Columbus Technical College Pratt and Whitney Quick Start Training Center. Both Atlanta Motorsports Park and Columbus Technical College are repeat clients, and our resume with both include award-winning projects.
The Atlanta Motorsports Park Kart Racing Centre involves the construction of a state-of-the-art new building. This world class building will include a kart retail and service center, viewing deck, covered pit lane area, entertainment space and members’ lounge as well as a café and dedicated meeting suites.
It’s always exciting to be a part of a project such as this one – a unique commercial construction project that will draw people to the already impressive site in Dawsonville, Georgia.
Meanwhile, in Columbus, Pratt & Whitney, a designer and manufacturer of service aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, will create more than 500 jobs and invest $386 million to expand its Columbus facility over the next five years. In support of this, Pratt & Whitney have partnered with the Technical College System of Georgia, through Columbus Technical College and Quick Start to provide an impressive training process at the existing Columbus Technical College/Quick Start Training Facility.
All of Pratt & Whitney’s new hires will begin their onboarding process at the training center. After initial onboarding, employees will transition into their respective area of business pathway training provided by Quick Start. Pratt & Whitney will provide onsite management oversight and other necessary training. Upon successful completion of new hire training, the employees will report to their assigned Pratt & Whitney location for further job specific training.
Albion is honored to be the chosen design-build firm for this project – a project that will benefit so many in the years to come.
