Description

Albion served as the Construction Manager at Risk for a large adaptive reuse construction project, collaborating with Praxis3 as the design firm. The six-story building was originally constructed as a parking garage in the 1940s and converted into office space in the 1950s. The project scope included three phases.

Phases A and B involved a complete renovation of the 28,000 square-foot building. The structure was essentially gutted and began anew, adding offices, conference rooms, and instructional spaces.

Phase C focused on modifications and repairs to the building’s facade. This included creating a street-level entrance and lobby, adding an access ramp to ensure upper-floor accessibility, replacing the existing windows with expansive floor-to-ceiling varieties, and installing a striking backlit blue glass feature that wraps around a highly visible corner of the building.
