Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church invited Albion to see if we could help with the launch of their Youth Television ministry program called “Live It Live!” The church needed a highly flexible stage built and they needed it quickly. The client had a small-scale model of what they wanted but no specific plans or drawings. So it was up to us, working in close partnership with the client, to design and build as we went along. The “Live it Live!” television stage presented some unique challenges. The stage had to be retractable so that it could be converted during the daytime for school use. On weekends, the stage is rolled out and reassembled so it could be used to broadcast their children’s TV ministry. The project was under a timeframe so tight that they were holding rehearsals for the TV show while we were building the stage. Our single-source design/build methodology provided end-to-end responsibility, accountability and expertise, to ensure a rapid delivery and enhanced quality. The job was completed on time and the producers were able to go “Live” on schedule. In 2007 and again in 2008, the “Live It Live!” production won the top award for “Most Innovative Production”, presented by Church Production Magazine and Worship Facilities Magazine at the WFX Conference.
