Albion Employee Spotlight: Jason Strane

“Hire really good, smart people, and get out of their way.” – Brian Newsome, Albion Chief Executive Officer

You may remember this quote from our blog post: “The Untold Story of Albion.” In light of Brian’s ability to find and retain the industry’s top talent, I wanted to spotlight our incredible team here at Albion. Each month, we will virtually introduce you to a member of our team. I look forward to chatting with my teammates about their interest in the construction industry, hobbies outside of work, and more. In this month’s ‘New Employee Spotlight’, we are introducing you to one of our Project Managers, Jason Strane.

Get to know a little bit more about Jason, an integral part of our team here at Albion. Jason is a dedicated and determined project manager who has had a “strong desire to know how things work from a very young age.” No challenge is too big for Jason! I asked him a few questions about his life in and outside of Albion:

What made you interested in working for a general contractor?

I had an intense desire to know how things work from a vey young age.  That translated into a lifelong hobby of researching how different types of machinery work and tinkering on cars and motorcycles.  I think that getting into the Construction field is really an extension of that same passion.

Why do you like working at Albion?

The people.  We have a great group of people in and out of the office that really take every day to a new level.  This translates into our clients as well.  We work for the best people.

What’s your favorite part of your job

Discovering and overcoming the unique challenges of every project.  Construction is never stagnant.  We don’t build the same widget on an assembly line day in day out.  Nothing more exciting then coming up with the solution to a unique problem that moves a project along to the next stage.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

See “Favorite Part.”  Haha.  In all seriousness though, I think that overcoming a unique project challenge can also be the most rewarding part.

What’s been your proudest moment while working for Albion?

Not sure I could boil this down to one moment.  I’ve enjoyed my time with Albion immensely and look forward to many new memories.  Proud to be a part of such a great organization with such great people, work culture, unique projects, etc.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Nikola Tesla.  What an amazing mind, inventor, and visionary.  His contributions to science and technology really shaped the world we live in today.

What is your favorite food?

Not really a food but more of a Genre.  Love Mexican food.

What is your favorite TV show?

I don’t watch a lot of T.V.  Races, Sporting Events, Documentaries.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Motorsports.  I started racing cars around 16 and never stopped.  It’s allowed me some very unique and amazing experiences over the years from my first time on the track to driving a semi-truck to Canada for a race weekend.

What is your favorite sports team?

IMSA, Formula 1, and Georgia Tech Football
